Effective Public Speaking Tips

Question by sunny: searching for an inspirational speaker who plays guitar?
a few years ago I attended a corporate meeting in Columbus Ohio that was meant to inspire us all to think outside the box by asking ourselves “What If”. The guy played his guitar while asking questions like “what if Bob Dillan and dolly parton did a song together” and then he’d play it and sing it. Or “what if John Lennon had a country accent” and then he’ d play a Lennon song with a country accent.

It was hystercal. I’m looking for that guy! Anybody know his name or have contact information:

I worked with Taiwan-based OEM/ODM First International Computer (FIC) on the design of 2 multi-media laptop concepts for the US teen demographic.

Physical apperance prototypes were made for presentation to Wal-Mart. Walmart chose "the box" concept for development. Well, it’s a box.

It was a fun project, however, and I got to work in Taipei with a great team of designers, project managers and engineers of the FIC Portable Computing Group.

Question by Michael Cole: How many years of practice in drama/public speaking do you need to be more confident?
Is it too late to start while starting university? I am quite nervous in front of a bunch of people. Is 3-4 years enough? I don’t mean to overcome the fear of it, i mean to become perfect/

It’s impossible to say – everyone is different. Some people get over their nerves of public performance within a few months of starting drama school, some are still petrified after three years and even then, never get to be good. Very few become perfect.
All you can do is give it your best shot!
