Question by : Public Speaking phobia problem?
I have a major speaking phobia…. it’s now escalated to where I worry about my Modern Foreign Languages Speaking tests… and even try to avoid them. I’ve been to see a professional for tapping and hypnotheropy, but none of it seems to be gelling… I’m still very worried.
I dont know why im like this, I’m usually a very confident, outgoing person… in Yr7 i got bullied out of my school, so I dont know if tht may of been a problem that caused the fear. My mind definitely goes over the top with it all. And I’m also very good at drama, getting the highest mark you can, but I’m still PETRIFIED of speaking… I cannot bare the thought of speaking and others listening, I dont know whats caused this, whats still making me scared and how to solve this? Should i just avoid it again and again drawing attention to myself, or just simply humiliate myself OR what else…. please could someone help this problem…. Thank you Very Much… x

One thing I do before giving a speech is try to clear your mind completely. After that you need to realize that the more relaxed you are the more likely you are to give a good speech and the fact is, a nervous person is never fun to listen to and you will start to lose your audience quick. Engage them more use hand gestures and images etc to help alleviate from the amount of actual speaking you do.
