Alcohol helps me become more social, confident, and talkative…will it help me with public speaking? I have to speak in front of 200 people and I’m thinking taking a couple of shots will help ease my nervousness….anyone ever use alcohol before public speaking?

My grandma (a professor years ago) always advised her students to take a shot before tests.

I wouldn’t overimbibe but one or two shots shouldn’t hurt you.

Is it too late to start while starting university? I am quite nervous in front of a bunch of people. Is 3-4 years enough? I don’t mean to overcome the fear of it, i mean to become perfect/

It’s impossible to say – everyone is different. Some people get over their nerves of public performance within a few months of starting drama school, some are still petrified after three years and even then, never get to be good. Very few become perfect.
All you can do is give it your best shot!

Marlene Dietrich in one of my favorite scenes of the movie ‘Stage Fright ‘ directed in 1950 by Alfred Hitchcock. I admire Hitchcock for his amazing ability to show a whole concept in one little scene, or even in one shot. I think it’s so interesting that actually most people only love their ‘dogs’ when the ‘dog’ loves them. This is one reason why I prefer cats somehow, because they hardly will do what you want, and you can still love them.

Question by Whig Party: Why aren’t more Republicans speaking out against professional victin Sarah Palin?
Just sayin’, the woman is clearly not cut out to be president. I am not trying to direct any hatred towards her but realistically, she is a victin by profession.

That isn’t the type of person that should be a Tea Party icon or a GOP one. She really shouldn’t be anyone’s icon with her attitude.

but have taken her side simply because they need to “protect their own.”
She pisses off liberals, so they back her.

? I’m not nervous they just say that I look timid or shy. Please don’t just refer me to a url unless you actually went through it and found that it’s valuable. If I wanted to first url that comes up on google I would just look myself.
